Our 43rd season kicked off with our Winter Lights concerts in December, which featured a variety of seasonal music exploring how radiance – whether candlelight, moonglow or friendship – helps us survive the cold of winter.

Our exciting upcoming concerts on April 14 and 21 are Giving Voice to Our Song: Music of Joy and Resilience. They feature a variety of uplifting pieces that encourage us to stay strong when facing challenges and adversity, and to tap into the joy within. The musical styles you will experience range from lush harmonies to rhythmic extravaganzas. Joining our music making are Dana Winograd, cello; Diana Sharpe, percussion; Dave Anderson, flute; and Ensemble accompanist, Bill Epstein. The concert highlight will be the brand new commission by composer Marie-Claire Saindon. Entitled The Voyage, this stunning piece uses the poetry of Linda Studley.

We offer a free short interactive Children/Youth Concert for children/youth and their accompanying adults. Come and share an hour of joyful music on April 20 at 3 pm.

But that’s not the end of our season at all. In early June, the Ensemble will be joining with the Durango Women’s Choir for our fourth collaboration, Together Again! The concerts will be in Durango on June 2 and Santa Fe on June 9, and they will feature performances, singly and jointly, exploring the breadth of music written for women’s voices.

Whether you enjoy early music or mysterious atmospheric soundscapes, this season’s concerts offer something for everyone. We can’t wait to share them with you!
